Voices- Forgiveness

Voices Back“Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. During supper, when the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him, Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going back to God, rose from supper. He laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him." John 13:1-5

"When he had washed their feet and put on his outer garments and resumed his place, he said to them, “Do you understand what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you." -John 13:12-15

Jesus washed the feet of the ones He knew were about to betray Him. You are called to do the same.

1) Look at your heart
"Create in me a pure heart, o God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." Psalm 51:10

"See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;" Hebrews 12:15

2) Figure out where the bitterness is from

3) Decide to forgive
"but God demonstrates his own love for us in this, that while we were still sinners Christ died for us." -Romans 5:8

4) Continue to walk in forgiveness
What brings strength to the body and anger to the devil is unity

Voices- Convicting Grace

Voices Back
Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection mean way more to us than just freedom from Hell.

The conviction Holy Spirit brings is to lighten our load, not make it heavier

John 16:7-11- “7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. 8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.”

The Holy Spirit brings conviction in three major areas: 1. Sin 2. Righteousness 3. Judgement

  1. Of sin because they do not believe in Me
Divinity- Who Jesus is

John 14:26- “26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

Romans 8:1-4- “
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”

If you feel like God is condemning of you when you mess up, that’s not Him condemning you, it's you condemning you.

2 Corinthians 3:18- “18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

As the Holy Spirit teaches us and reminds us of who Jesus is He empowers us to look more and more like Him
2. Of Righteousness because I go to My Father and you see Me no more.

Identity- Who we are in Christ

Rom 8:14-16- “14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,”

Rom 8:31-34- “31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.”
Ephesians 2:8-10- “8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves;
it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
He convicts us of who we are because when we know who we are we know what kind of power we have.

3. Of Judgement because the ruler of this world is judged.

Destiny- What our future holds

1 John 3:8- “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”

John 3:16- “
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Holy Spirit reminds us that God is not into condemnation, He's into reconciliation

2 Corinthians 5:17-21- “
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

Hell is not your destiny it's his

Voices- Rejoicing In Trials

Voices Back

Rejoicing in Trials

1 Peter 1:6-7 (NKJV) 6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

(NLT) 6 So be truly glad.[a] There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. 7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
Fingerprints of God, Fingerprints of the enemy Enemy:
John 10:10- The enemy comes to steal kill and destroy
1 Peter 5:8- Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

Jesus:
LIFE AND LIFE ABUNDANTLY.
Nowhere in scripture does God use sickness to refine somebody's character.

Luke 5:12
And it happened when He was in a certain city, that behold, a man who was full of leprosy saw Jesus; and he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”13 Then He put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I AM WILLING; be cleansed.” Immediately the leprosy left him."

Definition of trial:
"The act of trying, testing or putting to the proof." order to ascertain results."

Types of Trials
-COURT trials.
-CLINICAL trials.
-CAR CRASH tests
-School tests

"In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials..."
Sometimes trials take longer than they should because we haven't figured out the rejoice part.

11 Day Trip for Israelites Took 40 years.

"...FOR A LITTLE WHILE..."

The revelation of what God is doing in you in the trial produces JOY! -Proving the genuineness of your faith!

Faith is essential
The righteous LOVE by faith! Prayers are answered because of faith! We move mountains by faith! WITHOUT faith it is impossible to please God!

"I remember the days of old: I meditate on all Your works; I muse on the works of Your hands. I spread out my hands to You; My soul longs for You..."
Psalm 144:5-6

"Everything will work out for good to those who love God and are called according to his purpose."

Voices- God Speaks

Voices BackJohn 6:63 (NLT) The very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

Elijah’s Monday.

1 Kings 19:3-13 (NLT) 3 Elijah was afraid and fled for his life. He went to Beersheba, a town in Judah, and he left his servant there. 4 Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, LORD,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.” 5 Then he lay down and slept under the broom tree. But as he was sleeping, an angel touched him and told him, “Get up and eat!” 6 He looked around and there beside his head was some bread baked on hot stones and a jar of water! So he ate and drank and lay down again. 7 Then the angel of the LORD came again and touched him and said, “Get up and eat some more, or the journey ahead will be too much for you.” 8 So he got up and ate and drank, and the food gave him enough strength to travel forty days and forty nights to Mount Sinai, the mountain of God. 9 There he came to a cave, where he spent the night. But the LORD said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 10 Elijah replied, “I have zealously served the LORD God Almighty. But the people of Israel have broken their covenant with you, torn down your altars, and killed every one of your prophets. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me, too.” 11 “Go out and stand before me on the mountain,” the LORD told him. And as Elijah stood there, the LORD passed by, and a mighty windstorm hit the mountain. It was such a terrible blast that the rocks were torn loose, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. 12 And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And a voice said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

How does God speak?
John 10:27 (NLT) My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
1. The clarity of his Word
Psalm 119:105 (NLT) Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.

2. The voice of our Father
John 12:49-50 (NLT) I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it. 50 And I know his commands lead to eternal life; so I say whatever the Father tells me to say.”

3. The leading of the spirit
John 14:26 (NIV) But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

4.The happenings of life

5. The wisdom of our Community
Colossians 3:15-16 (NIV) 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
