The Green Light

Repentance:
Matthew 3:8 (NIV) Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.
Repentance- Change your mind.
Repentance is flipping a switch!
Throughout the Scriptures:

John the Baptist:
Matthew 3:1-2 (NIV) 1 In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the Desert of Judea 2and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."
Jesus:
Matthew 4:17 (NIV) From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."
The Disciples:
Acts 3:19 (NIV) Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.

REPENT FOR THE
KINGDOM IS NEAR.

🚦2019 Year of the Green Light.

Genesis 12:1-4 (NLT) 1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. 2 I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. 3 I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.” 4 So Abram departed as the LORD had instructed

1. The promise of dominion(new territory)
2. The promise of reproduction

3. The promise of blessing & increase

Galatians 3:26-29 (NLT) 26 For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on the character of Christ, like putting on new clothes. 28 There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.
Dominion, reproduction, blessing.

The light is green!
2 Corinthians 1:19-20 (NLT) 19 Jesus Christ, the Son of God, does not waver between “Yes” and “No.” He is the one whom Silas, Timothy, and I preached to you, and as God’s ultimate “Yes,” he always does what he says. 20 For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.

Switching Gears
“Going and growing ain’t always easy.”
1. From Hype to Hope
Hebrews 10:23 (NIV) Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
Isaiah 49:23 (NIV) Those who hope in me will not be disappointed.

2. From Waiting ON to Trusting IN
Isaiah 40:31(NIV)
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

“Waiting on drains, waiting upon fills.”

Timing can be tricky…
1. Often timing has more to do with us than it does God.
“Don’t call your delay God’s timing.”
“Don’t call your distractions God’s timing.”
2. Often times the fulfillment of promises due to our failure to participate.

3. Trusting Gods timing means He is working and so am I.
God’s job is to fulfill our job is to be faithful.

Hebrews 11:11 (NIV) By faith Abraham, even though he was past age—and Sarah herself was barren--was enabled to become a father because he considered him faithful who had made the promise.

3. From Idle to Accelerate
When God speaks we move.
“Delayed obedience is disobedience.”
“You cant experience the Gospel without Go.”

ITS GO TIME!!!!!
1. Because of Christ
