Honoring Dad

Honoring Dad
Romans 8:15-16 For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ.

Psalm 40:1-5 I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD. Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods. Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare.

3 Qualities Shared by heavenly Father & My Earthly father

1. Rock Solid
Psalms 40:2 He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

Psalm 46:1-2
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.

2. Awe-Inspiring
Psalms 40:5 “Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare.”

Proverbs 25:2
It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.

Colossians 1:26 This message was kept secret for centuries and generations past, but now it has been revealed to God's people.

3. Commitment
Psalms 40:3 Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD. Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust.”
My Earthly Father has an incredible work ethic //// dedication

Hebrews 6:16-18 Now when people take an oath, they call on someone greater than themselves to hold them to it. And without any question that oath is binding. God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind. So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.
