People of The Way: We The People | Acts 2:42-47

Ephesians 2:19 (NIV) You are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household.

“Heaven is more than a place in the cosmos it’s a place in the family.”

John 17:20–23 (NLT) 20 “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. 21 I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. 22 “I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. 23 I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.

“We get the privilege to answer the prayer that Jesus prayed.”

“God is glorified when we are unified.”

Acts 2:1 (NIV) 2 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.

Psalm 133:1–3 (NIV)1 How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! 2 It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe. 3 It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.

Acts 2:42–47 (NIV) 42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

3. Fulfilling Needs
John 13:34–35 (NLT) 34 So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. 35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

Romans 12:15 (NIV) Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.

Hebrews 10:24–25 (NLT) 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

4. Functioning together
43 “Many wonders and signs performed by the apostles.”

5. Fruitful together
