Mark 9:15 (NIV) As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him.
“You won't behold Him properly without encountering Him personally."
As People of the Way, we see Jesus differently. Matthew 13:10–12 (NIV) 10 The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?” 11 He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12 Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.
John 13:23 (NIV) One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved, was reclining next to him.
"What he heard in the upper room, he saw in the throne room.”
Revelation 4:3-4 (NIV) 2 At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. 3 And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne.
We value his multifaceted presence.
“When you behold the beauty of Jesus, worship is not a task, it's a Response!”
Revelation 4:8 (NIV) Day and night they never stop saying: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come."
Beholding him 1. Gaze intently & intentionally. Matthew 6:22 (NIV) “If the eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.
2. Seek Wisdom & Revelation. Ephesians 1:17 (NIV) I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
3. Immerse yourself in His depth. Ephesians 3:16–19 (NIV) 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know(NLT Experience) this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Hosea 6:3 (NLT) Oh, that we might know the Lord! Let us press on to know him. He will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring.”
