Our Father- Priority

Matthew 6:9–13 (NKJV)

9 Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as
it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
Palm Sunday
John 12:12–13 (NKJV) 12 The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13 took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out: "Hosanna! 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!' The King of Israel!"

Matthew 6:9 (NKJV)Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

The Prayer Priority
1. Your Kingdom Come.
Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
  • "Prayer should be driven by the urgency of his kingdom, not the urgency of need."
What is the Kingdom?
What does it look like?
Colossians 1:14 (NLT) He has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son.

Romans 14:17 (NKJV) The kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Luke 17:20–21 (NKJV) "The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21 nor will they say, 'See here!' or 'See there!' For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you."

2. Your will be done
The will of God happens when His Kingdom is prioritized.
How do I know God's will?
"You know God's will by following God's way."

What will He be most glorified in? Pray that.

3. On earth as it is in heaven.
  • God's will is that earth reflects heaven.
Prayer tip: Pray earth reflects heaven.

One day the earth will become that kingdom.
Revelation 11:15 (NKJV) Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!"
  • Until that day we are preparing for that day.

Praying The Kingdom
1. Permission
  • We not only have full access to approach God we have delegated authority to distribute it.
  • "God is in charge of the product, we are in charge of the distribution."
Matthew 16:19 (NKJV) I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

Prayer tip: Pray like you're a partner

2. Power
We have authority over
anything contrary to what He rules over.
1 Corinthians 4:20 (NKJV) For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.

Prayer Tip: Pray with Authority.

3. Praise
Psalm 24:7 (NKJV) Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.
Praise is an invasion invitation!

Prayer tip: Celebrate his greatness.

4. Proclamation
Prayer tip: Declare “Kingdom Come. Will of God be done!"

5. Participation
Because we have permission, we must participate.

Our Father- Posture

Matthew 6:9–13 (NKJV)

9 Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as
it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

The Posture of Prayer:
Matthew 6:9 (NKJV) In this manner, therefore, pray: "Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name."
1. In this manner
There is a right way to pray. There is also a wrong way to pray.

Matthew 6:5–8 (NKJV) 5 "And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. 7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 "Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.

1. Don't pray to look spiritual.
2. Don't pray to sound spiritual.
Words are important, but they are not magical.
3. Designate a special place & pray

2. Therefore, pray
"When you pray, say."
Luke 11:2 (NIV)
Worrying is not prayer- "Worry is meditating on fear."
Thoughts are not prayers-
Prayer is a devoted conversation with God
Prayer Tip: Pray Out Loud

"We don't pray our way. We pray God's way!"

3. Our Father

John 1:12 (NLT) To all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

Our posture comes from our position!

Galatians 4:6–7 (NKJV) Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!" 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Prayer Tip : We pray To Our Father. Prayer Tip: We pray to our Father, through Jesus led by the HolySpirit.

4. Who is in heaven
Isaiah 66:1 (NIV) "Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool."

Isaiah 59:1 (NLT) Listen! The Lord's arm is not too weak to save you, nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call.

Isaiah 59: 2 (NLT) It's your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore.

Prayer is a privilege of those made right before God.

Hebrews 7:25 (NLT) He is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.
We have full access through Jesus.
Prayer Tip: We pray confidently and courageously.

5. Hallowed be thy name.
Hallowed-(Hagiozo) To render or treat it as SACRED.

With Reverence, "A lion you can wrestle."
Prayer Tip: Sing & worship when you pray.

We pray:
1. Regularly- Frequently & Faithfully.
2. Relationally- Talking to him.
3. Reverently- Worshipping and adoring his name

Stewarding The Word

Stewarding the Word
1. The Written Word- The Bible
2. The Spoken Word

Acts 2:17
‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.
- Prophetic Word
- Dreams
- Preaching of the Word

3. The Living Word
John 1:1-3; 14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.  In Him was life, and the life was the light of men 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 17:3
And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.Stewardship: the job of supervising or taking care of something

Matthew 25:14-30
“For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them.
And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey.  Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents.  And likewise he who had received two gained two more also.  But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money.  After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.
“So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’  His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’  His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
“Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’
“But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed.  So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest.  So take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.
‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.  And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

1. The Written Word
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God
is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
James 1:24
Anyone who listens to the word (logos) but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
“You will get no revelation from a closed book. You will also get no insight with a closed mind.”
2. The Spoken Word
3. The Living Word

Ezekiel 47:1-12(NLT) 1 In my vision, the man brought me back to the entrance of the Temple. There I saw a stream flowing east from beneath the door of the Temple and passing to the right of the altar on its south side. 2 The man brought me outside the wall through the north gateway and led me around to the eastern entrance. There I could see the water flowing out through the south side of the east gateway. 3 Measuring as he went, he took me along the stream for 1,750 feet and then led me across. The water was up to my ankles. 4 He measured off another 1,750 feet and led me across again. This time the water was up to my knees. After another 1,750 feet, it was up to my waist. 5 Then he measured another 1,750 feet, and the river was too deep to walk across. It was deep enough to swim in, but too deep to walk through. 6 He asked me, “Have you been watching, son of man?” Then he led me back along the riverbank. 7 When I returned, I was surprised by the sight of many trees growing on both sides of the river. 8 Then he said to me, “This river flows east through the desert into the valley of the Dead Sea. The waters of this stream will make the salty waters of the Dead Sea fresh and pure. 9 There will be swarms of living things wherever the water of this river flows. Fish will abound in the Dead Sea, for its waters will become fresh. Life will flourish wherever this water flows. 10 Fishermen will stand along the shores of the Dead Sea. All the way from En-gedi to En-eglaim, the shores will be covered with nets drying in the sun. Fish of every kind will fill the Dead Sea, just as they fill the Mediterranean. 11 But the marshes and swamps will not be purified; they will still be salty. 12 Fruit trees of all kinds will grow along both sides of the river. The leaves of these trees will never turn brown and fall, and there will always be fruit on their branches. There will be a new crop every month, for they are watered by the river flowing from the Temple. The fruit will be for food and the leaves for healing.”
